About the Soup & Bread CSA
A Broken Angel and Mill Fire Baking both share a commitment to small-batch, artisan foods made with regional, sustainably sourced ingredients. We’re delighted to bring that philosophy to this seasonal offering!
How it Works
Much like a traditional CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), our Soup & Bread CSA (Community Supported Artisan) helps sustain both small businesses during our “slower” seasons through advance subscriptions. Members purchase a share for a set number of weekly curated soup and bread pairings.
Pickups take place on Wednesdays between noon and 6 p.m. at A Broken Angel food cart. Please, no early birds! To ensure efficient operations and due to limited storage, Wednesday pickups are preferred. If you have a scheduling conflict or miss your pickup, please email us to request an alternative arrangement (or for same day, call the food cart at 458-202-9334). While late pickups cannot be guaranteed, we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
Alternate options:
Send a friend or family member to pick up your share.
Request that your soup and bread be held until Thursday morning.
Request that we freeze your soup.
Unclaimed soup and bread will be donated on Thursday unless other arrangements are made.
Each week, members receive a newsletter sharing the story behind the soup and bread selection. Customers tell us these notes help set the tone for a favorite dinner ritual. It’s been a joy to create nourishing, welcoming food for our community—one subscriber put it best: "It’s like a warm hug every week!”
Bonus CSA Perk: Enjoy 10% off food cart meals throughout the CSA pickup period. Ask about additional bread, soup, or other items available for purchase on pickup days. The food cart will also be open for regular service. (Need more bread? Mill Fire Baking has additional bread opportunities!)

Runs Oct 7 - Nov 11. Pickups are Wednesdays between noon and 6 p.m. at the food cart: A Broken Angel at Crux Fermentation Project, 50 SW Division St, Bend.
Two-Person Share: $144. Includes 1 quart of soup for six weeks, plus bread for two.
Family Share: $288. If you would like a Family Share, please order two shares. We’re happy to bag it together or separately, as meets your pickup needs.

All soups and breads are plant-based/vegan, and each soup will be paired with fresh bread tailored to the weekly selection. Most soups are gluten-free (gluten-free items are not necessarily safe for individuals with celiac disease*). Breads are not gluten-free.
A Broken Angel is always animal-product free. We source mainly organic and pick local/regional vendors whenever possible.
*Attention those with special dietary needs: While we note common allergens and dietary preferences and take steps to minimize the risk of cross-contamination, we have a small kitchen and do not guarantee that any items are safe for people with peanut, tree nut, sesame, soy, wheat, or other allergies or sensitivities.
